There are plenty of people with problems.
There are also plenty of people with solutions. Problems are often not solved because people with problem do not meet people with solutions.
Some problems are complex and require long term intervention. Some problems are so simple that it may only require a person with the right contacts to make a phone call.
The Kalam Initiative, KI is an online portal that aims to help facilitate the solving of problems at a community level where the community is empowered to solve their own problems.
KI AIMS TO:
- Focus on identifying people with simple problems and “semi-complex” problems.
- Be a centre “where problems meet with solutions”.
- Facilitate the meeting of people with problems and solutions.
- Facilitate the solving of problems via dedicated and trained volunteers.
For phase 1 of the KI, we hope to identify community leaders and activist who are actively involved in the community. These people will help find people with issues or problems that need solving. These people are called the “Problem Identifiers”. KI shall also endeavor to build a network of experts and respected people who are able to solve problems. These people are called “Problem Solvers”. A group of volunteers will also be identified to help verify and facilitate this process at the local level. The main pillars of KI are Education & Careers, Health & Wellbeing, Business & Entrepreneurship, Legal & Regulation and Social & Welfare.
